Vanier's Staggered Start Entry Plan

Vanier's Staggered Start Entry Plan
Posted on 08/25/2020

The Ministry of Education recently announced that school boards were permitted to adopt a staggered start to the 2020-2021 school year to allow additional time for students to adjust to new routines, and health and safety practices. In Limestone, the first day of school is Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020. Elementary schools will organize a staggered entry based on an alternate schedule of A/B days until and including September 11.

At Module Vanier, the staggered student entry plan is as follows:

Students within each class will be designated as either an “A” day student or a “B” day student so that on each school day, only half of the students in the class will attend. As there are six (6) days of instruction between September 3rd and September 11th, 2020, each student will attend school three (3) full days of class during this time.

The coordination of these six (6) days is an incredibly complex process that takes into account students from the same household, and means of transportation across not only our 10 classes at Vanier, but also at K.C.V.I. (as we share busing and siblings between the two schools).

Students would attend as follows:

Vanier Day “A” students – Will attend on Thursday, September 3rd, Tuesday, September 8th and Thursday, September 10th.

Vanier Day “B” students – Will attend on Friday, September 4th, Wednesday, September 9th and Friday, September 11th.

All students will then attend together starting on Monday, September 14th, 2020.

Parents/Guardians will be informed of their child’s Day “A” or Day “B” designation on Thursday August 27th, 2020 via email. If you have not been receiving emails from the school please email with your child’s name, your name and the email contact information to be added.
